Brookfield’s ‘Selfie Museum’ Provides Alternative to Photography Studios | Business

The “Selfie Museum” at 16700 W. Bluemound Road, Suite 400, is a do-it-yourself photography studio. It offers 16 unique rooms, each with its own theme, background, and furnishings, in which people can take selfies, professional photos, or videos. There are rooms designed for almost every type of fun photo op imaginable, from one decorated with 1950s decor to one that’s little more than a room with lockers and a neon sign.

A $ 20 entry ticket to the studio gives one person a selfie booth, ring light, and an hour to take as many photos as they want at one of the photography booths. Participants must bring their own camera and professional photographers are welcome if they purchase their own individual ticket, although pets are not allowed.

The one-stop alternative to a traditional photography studio opened in June and is co-owned by Indiana-based entrepreneur DJ Brown. It is part of a large chain of similar studios that has over 20 locations across the country.

However, while he may be part of a channel that is not based in Wisconsin, Morgan Hoppe, one of the directors of the Brookfield site, said the staff are almost all social media influencers from the area, and in Hoppe’s case, the reason she landed the job was because she made a viral video about the fun focused on social media the spaces.

“I posted a TikTok that I wanted a selfie museum on,” she said.

Now that she has the job, she said she was excited to give other influencers a special way to go viral in Wisconsin, where there are no other Selfie WRLD locations.

“It’s something that’s very foreign to the Midwest,” Hoppe said.

Hoppe also noted that the studio is prepared to deal with any restrictions related to the pandemic as it arises. While masks are not mandatory for now, she has stated that if there is another public safety warrant, the studio will follow all safety precautions to make sure people can keep creating cool content.

The studio is open Tuesday to Friday from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. / Anyone interested in renting the entire studio can also do so by contacting the Brookfield agency directly.
