The inaugural collection includes Olympic images of Walter Iooss Jr.
Panama, February 15, 2022 — immutable imagea collective of photographers whose mission is to create an ecosystem to empower and support creators, today announced that it will launch its first NFT showcase on Metaplex, a permissionless on-chain protocol for buying, selling, and auctioning NFTs natively on the Solana blockchain. The inaugural campaign will feature an exhibition of the “Rembrandt of sports photography” Walter Iooss Jr., nicknamed “Shooting for Gold”. This NFT Expo will drop on February 15 at 6:30 p.m. ET.
“Shooting for the Gold” is derived from a 1982 commission that stowed Iooss for two years with Team USA Noted as “the greatest mission” of his life, Iooss’ NFT offering features iconic shots of this series as well as other selections of Olympic themed photographs. An image captures gymnastics superstar Mary Lou Retton as she wins her first Olympic gold medal. Diving, athletics and boxing events also play prominent roles in the collection. Five percent of all gross primary sales of “Shooting for the Gold” will be donated to Boys & Girls Clubs of America through crypto donation platform, The Giving Block.

The photographs sold for a sum of 161.5 GROUND. Following the Iooss exhibition, Immutable Image will feature exhibitions by these artists, and they will announce new ones shortly.
