Leicestershire developer reveals photography competition winners

Duncan Fossey’s submission was a winner

A developer has announced the winners of its nature photography competition, each of which received a prize worth £ 100 and whose images will be displayed in a 2022 calendar.

From August to mid-November, local communities, amateur photographers and nature enthusiasts close to Mulberry Homes developments submitted their best photographs of local wildlife and nature. The competition was a great success and received a total of 322 entries.

The competition was divided into two categories, “adult” and “junior”, with those under 18 eligible for the latter.

12 winners have now been selected to feature in a 2022 nature-themed calendar, including one winner from Leicestershire. The calendars will be distributed to customers and local residents and will be displayed in all of the developer’s marketing suites.

Mulberry Homes also crowned grand adult winner Duncan Fossey, 47, and overall junior winner Hannah Brookes, 14, who will feature on the front page of the calendar.

Each winner received vouchers worth £ 100 to local camera shops, and the adult and junior winners also received an additional £ 50 each.

Duncan Fossey said, “I am delighted to have been selected as the grand adult winner of the Mulberry Homes Photo Calendar Competition. I took this photo of a barn owl in flight in my hometown of Towcester, Northamptonshire, and I am honored that they rated it as the best entry received by an adult participant.

“I can’t wait to see my photo in the 2022 calendar and can’t wait to take advantage of my prize! “

Hannah Brookes said: “I was so happy to hear that I was the big junior winner! It was very unexpected, but I’m so glad Mulberry Homes liked my photo of a mouse. I can’t wait to hang up my copy of the calendar and see all the photos of the other winners! “

As many photographs were submitted by the public, the home builder also selected seven images to display in a show house of its latest development. As a thank you, each photographer received a £ 50 voucher.

Hannah Brookes (Junior) from Northamptonshire won the overall standings

Kerry Jones, Director of Sales and Marketing, said: “We are very proud to announce the winners of our very popular Photo Calendar competition.

“Selecting our favorite photos from over 300 entries was a real challenge, but we really enjoyed browsing all of them. We are honored that so many people entered our contest, and we want to thank everyone who got involved. Congratulations to all of our well-deserved winners, especially our adult and junior winners, who all submitted some truly amazing photographs.

“We are delighted to also display seven beautiful photographs in our show home in Clifton Gardens. We can’t wait for the show house to be open for visitors and residents to come and admire.

“As a responsible home builder, creating safe environments for nature to thrive and thrive is a very important part of our philosophy. Raising awareness of how we can protect vulnerable wildlife, such as hedgehogs and barn owls, is close to our hearts, and we are delighted to have shared our passion with the local community.

The competition was part of the developer’s ongoing green campaign, in which it is committed to supporting local wildlife and rescue sanctuaries near its developments.

In 2022, Mulberry Homes operates a monthly community fund called The Mulberry Community Chest. As part of the program, charities and public organizations local to its developments are invited to apply to receive a one-time donation of £ 1 to £ 1,000, and each month a jury will select a beneficiary to secure the requested funding.
