More time to enter our 2023 Caithness Calendar photography competition

Amateur photographers now have a bit more time to submit their photos for our 2023 Caithness Calendar competition.

Readers have already sent in some fantastic images in hopes of winning a place in next year’s calendar, but the deadline for submitting images will now be extended from this Sunday to August 14.

People can submit photographs from the county over the four seasons to the editors of the Caithness Courier and John O’Groat Journal, with winners taking pride of place in the calendar.

From your entries, we will choose the 12 images of Caithness that will be used to illustrate the calendar, with the overall winning entry featured on the cover.

  • Find your best shots. Please remove any watermark or date stamp.
  • Make sure the images are high resolution jpg files (minimum size 2MB)
  • Email them to [email protected] with “2023 Calendar Photos” in the subject line.
  • Include: a caption indicating the location of the image; your name; a daytime phone number.
  • Please Note: Due to the high volume of entries we receive, we are unable to acknowledge receipt of images.

By entering, you’ll have the chance to have your photo included in the calendar and receive a free copy of the final product, which will go on sale later this year.

Those whose photos are selected will also receive a copy of this year’s Caithness photo book.

By participating, you authorize us to reproduce your image for the calendar, as well as in our newspapers and websites. You will retain copyright of the image.

The registration deadline is 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, August 14.
