Established in 2016, Picturing Footscray is a free, open-entry photography prize focusing on Melbourne’s unique west-central suburb of Footscray, run by Victoria University.
Now in its seventh year, Picturing Footscray has become a well-known photography award that documents the changing culture and landscape of Footscray. This year we are looking for photos that capture the essence of Footscray and celebrate what this suburb is about.
Photographers of all skill levels are invited to participate and explore the people, streets and cultures that make Footscray the vibrant community it is.
After two years of holding Picturing Footscray virtual, we are extremely excited to return to a physical exhibit and community celebration in 2022! Mark the opening date of the exhibition in your calendars and get ready to admire Footscray through a photographic lens.
Please note: to be considered for awards, you must deliver your printed artwork for display in the physical exhibit. The complete exhibition will also be presented virtually, but only the public prize will be judged via the online platform.
Registrations close on Wednesday, September 28, 12 p.m. (noon). Late registrations will not be accepted.
