Sharon Historical Society & Museum Photography Exhibit, “Drone! » opens May 7

SHARON – The Sharon Historical Society & Museum’s upcoming exhibition in the SHS Gallery, Drone!, features a selection of aerial photographs of Sharon and its surroundings by Brian Wilcox and Graham Klemm, to be held at the Sharon Historical Society & Museum’s Gallery SHS May 7-June 24.

The public is invited to attend the artists’ vernissage from 5 to 7 p.m. on May 7.

Wilcox, a professional photographer, is well known for his social media posts, books and calendars featuring aerial views of the surrounding countryside and local events, according to the company.

“Brian takes a somewhat purist approach to his photography, eschewing filters and special effects, to produce stunning landscapes with startling precision,” according to a statement.

“Klemm has used drone photography as a business tool to aid in his work as one of Litchfield County’s most successful real estate brokers. But what started as work became art. His sensual photographs explore the effects of light on Sharon’s landscape at different times of the day and in varying weather,” the statement said.

A portion of all proceeds purchased will support the mission of the Sharon Historical Society & Museum.

The SHS Gallery is located in the Sharon Historical Society & Museum at 18 Main Street in Sharon, CT. Museum hours are 12pm-4pm Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 10am-2pm Saturday and by appointment.
