The World Amateur Sports Photography Awards are open for entries

Following the announcement of the winners of the third World Sports Photography Awards, a new competition is open for amateur photographers. This is an opportunity for all photographers who are passionate about photographing sport, but who don’t make a living from it, to present their best images.

Photographers can submit up to 3 images from any sport category provided they were taken between August 15, 2021 and August 15, 2022. amateur awards.

Speaking about the amateur chapter, World Sports Photography Awards co-founder Simon Burton said: “Sports photography is all about the emotion and the story behind the image. That’s true whether it’s a world famous athlete in a stadium or kids on a sports day at school. We look forward to seeing entries in this category that tell inspiring stories of effort, determination, disappointment and celebration.

The first, second and third place winners of the Amateur World Sports Photography Awards will spend the day with a professional sports photographer filming a sporting event*. This will be a fantastic opportunity to learn more about sports photography and what it takes to become a professional sports photographer. They will also be able to try out their dream kit, provided by sponsor MPB.

Additionally, winners will receive a credit to spend on BPM. The first winner will receive a credit of £1,000 while the second and third place photographers will each receive £500 and £250 respectively.

*The sporting event experience does not include travel and accommodation costs, but every effort will be made to make this experience as geographically close as possible to the winners.
